With the Sh963 million renovation begins, the Kenya Airports Authority has shut two of its terminals at JKIA.
Through a statement on Saturday, the Authority reported that during the upgrade, it closed Terminal 1B and C to enhance the travel experience at the airport.
Both pre-T1B and T1C flight operations have now been transferred to Terminal 1A and Terminal 2.
The 1-year initiative to upgrade the airport seeks to refurbish the departure halls to enhance the experience of check-in, security screening, retail operations and passenger lounge.
The authority said that the newly renovated light-filled departure terminals, once completed, would include modern amenities as well as facilities that will offer a pleasant experience to travellers.
The renovation and makeover of the T1B and 1C are aimed at aligning the passenger experience at terminals to track what is being offered at T1A, according to KAA Acting CEO Alex Gitari.
