Senator Isaac Mwaura’s seat has been declared vacant by Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka.
This comes after the Jubilee Party decided to expel him after he was accused of lobbying for a different political party’s candidate.
“With effect from the 7th May 2021, the seat of the Member of the Senate elected under Article 98 (1) (d) of the Constitution and held by Hon. Isaac Mwaura Maigua became vacant,” Lusaka said in a gazette dated May 10th, 2021.
Mwaura had been expelled from the Jubilee Party after the Political Parties Disputes Tribunal upheld the Jubilee Party’s decision to expel him for disloyalty and pledging allegiance to another party.
