Caroline Kangogo, a policewoman in Eldoret, died from a single gunshot wound to the head, according to a post-mortem study.
The bullet entered through the right chin, penetrated through the spine, and damaged her brain before exiting through the left side of the skull, according to Dr. Johansen Oduor, the Chief Government Pathologist.
After a two-hour autopsy at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital mortuary in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, Dr. Oduor said, “The gun was close to the skin on the right side of the chin and there was a gunshot wound on the left side of the head just above the ear.”
He stated that more laboratory tests would be conducted.
“I have gathered samples and additional swabs that will assist us in determining the true nature of the death,” he said, declining to say if the death was caused by suicide.
